Match Report:
Once again we were able to get away to a good start kicking 8 goals to none against the breeze in the first quarter. With Brando and Gumby giving Dan Kelly, Devon McDonald and Kieran Malone first use out of the middle, we allowed James Kroussoratis, Sean Downs, Mikey Edwards and 16-year-old debutante Nick Mayne to hit the scoreboard regularly. A nasty head knock prior to half time saw an early end to the second and we wish all the best in recovery to the Reservoir player taken to hospital. We able to pick up where we left off in the second half, finishing the game full of riding with “Rata” equalling the record for most seniors goals kicked at RJ Brockwell Oval with 12. We want to make a special mention to Reservoir who, despite the scoreboard and the loss of a player, played on manfully and showed great spirit right until the final siren and we wish them all the best for the remainder of the season. This week we look forward to a local derby against Heidelberg West at West.

Match Report:
This week we took on reservoir for the second time for the year and we went into the game expecting a similar result to round 1. With borgy loosing another toss it was a really poor first quarter with all players struggling to get into the game with reservoir managing to kick 2 goals to 1. The 2nd quarter didn't get much better with most players still struggling with the tricky conditions and going into half time with the scores tight. The 3rd quarter was still a battle but there was glimpses of good football but still no where near enough effort and commitment to get the result to reservoir credit the amount of improvement for round 1 is unbelievable. Finally things clicked in the last quarter with the game starting to open right up and the run starting to get on top it was good effort to kick 12 goals in the last but to beat the top sides it must be a 4 quarter effort.

Match Report:
A combination of playing in front of our home supporters at the cave, the hunger to win our first game of the season, and the return of a few big names had us raring to play our best footy of the season thus far. We knew that we could run North Heidelberg off their feet,if we were willing to put in the effort. That started with Pat in the ruck, who put in a massive shift coming up from the Colts to give us first use of the footy against a much larger opposition.Sean and Ryan, who also came up from the Colts, also seamlessly fitted right into the side ,with Ryans sledging towards the opposition assuring me we have a bright future at the cave. Silky,(who compared his use of the footy to Shaun Burgoyne pre game ), rarely missed a target all day.Ben Nethercote put in a best on ground Preformance, racking up disposals for fun and putting his head over the ball when required. The backline were as solid as they have been all season, the forwards kicked a winning score and the coach was refreshed after serving us arguably the biggest spray in the history of football last round.A good way to get our first win of the season.
